What Our Clients Say ?

    Reting Monastery

Reting Monastery was set up by the founder of Dromtönpa in 1057. Having a nine-hundred-year history, it is the first monastery of Kadham Sect in Tibet. Reting Monastery is located in the territory of Tanggo village in Lunchup County which is 240 kilometers away from the north of Lhasa. It is said that long time ago it was a bald mountain without grasses and trees here. Later Tibet King Songtsan Gampo toured here for inspection, and then he sprinkled the water he used to wash his hair on the hill and made a pray. As a result, 25 thousand green cypresses grew out. “Reting” means “eradicating all vexation until achieves detachment from three realms of reincarnation”. At the west side of Reting Monastery, the famous “Pabong Thang” is regarded as a “sacred via” by monks and laymen. The word “Pabong” means gigantic stone and “Thang” means a lawn or a dam. In Tibetan folklore, 100 thousand apsaras descend to the mortal world on July fifteenth of every year of goat in Tibetan calendar, gather and set the alter ally, regenerating all mortal creatures from misery. For this reason, traditional festival formed in history. On the day, devout men and women from various regions travel far away to the beautiful rock pasture, to offer all kinds of tributes respectfully, recite sutras, and pray for peace and prosperity.
